MaidSafe Foundation Secures £19,141.50 Lottery Grant for Community STEM Initiative

MaidSafe Foundation were Awarded National Lottery Funding to Expand Community STEM Education Programme in July 2025

MaidSafe Foundation is delighted to announce it has been awarded £19,141.50 in National Lottery funding through Awards for All to part-fund its Community S.T.E.M Centre and Outreach Project.

This significant grant will support the Foundation’s mission to provide accessible science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education to local communities, helping to bridge the digital divide and inspire the next generation of innovators.

The funding will be used to enhance STEM centre activities and support essential staffing requirements, enabling the MaidSafe Foundation to expand its educational outreach programmes. The initiative aims to deliver hands-on learning experiences, workshops, and community engagement activities that make STEM subjects more accessible and engaging for people of all ages and backgrounds.

“We are thrilled to receive this support from the National Lottery Community Fund,” said Heather Robertson, Funding and community engagement officer at MaidSafe Foundation. “This funding represents a vital investment in our community’s future, enabling us to continue our work in making STEM education accessible to everyone whilst fostering innovation and digital literacy in our local area.”

MaidSafe Foundation Community S.T.E.M Centre and Outreach Project will use the grant to develop and deliver programmes that encourage participation in STEM fields, particularly amongst underrepresented groups, whilst supporting the Foundation’s broader mission of advancing decentralised technology education.
